First day. Friday July 3rd or Thursday July 2nd

Players should arrive in San Jose, Costa Rica (airport code SJO) on either July 2nd or July 3rd. A tournament transfer will be waiting for you at the airport. The person waiting for you will have a Frisbee with your name, as a sign. Look for your transfer pick up person on the right side as you exit the airport.

If you arrive on July 2nd, I will find accommodation for you at one of the Costa Rican Ultimate Players houses for that night. The Costa Ricans hold ultimate pick up practice on Thursday nights, at 8 p.m. You are invited to join the practice.

Arriving on July 2nd is better, since it will give you a chance to practice Ultimate with the Costa Ricans, and you can go on the first transfer on Friday morning. This transfer will arrive around mid day at the volcano, and this will give you the afternoon to explore the place. Last year most people in this transfer choose to do a Canopy Zip line tour on Friday afternoon.

If you arrive on Friday July 3rd, be sure to arrive before 6 p.m. since this is the departure time of the last transfer to Arenal Volcano. (It will take you about 45 minutes to go through customs and get your luggage, once you arrive at the airport). If you arrive after 6 p.m., you will have to find transportation to the volcano own your own.

The first tournament transfer will depart from Fico’s house on San Jose city at 9 a.m. on Friday morning. Fico is Carlos brother, and Fico’s house has been the un-official Ultimate Party house in Costa Rica for the last decade. Fico’s house address is Moravia, Barrio Pilar, Frente a Romanas Ballar

This bus will stop at the Antiguo Yahohan at 9:20 a.m. to pick up more people . Second Tournament transfer will depart from the Antiguo Yahohan at 6 p.m. and will stop to pick up more players at Centro Comercial Real Cariari at 6:20 p.m.

If you arrive previous to the tournament and have been traveling around, just be sure to be at Fico’s house or antiguo Yahohan at the scheduled time. Be sure to tell Carlos which pick up location you will be at and what time.

Our tournament bus will take you on the 2.5-hour trip to the town of La Fortuna at the Arenal Volcano area, where the tournament will take place. Our players will give you the information you need for the next day during the transfer to the hotel. Dinner (buffet) is included at the hotel until 9:00 p.m.

Second day. Saturday July 4th.

Early morning breakfast followed by transfer to the rain forest. We will hike through a road surrounded by rain forest and pasture land, bring binoculars and cameras to the hike, since there is potential to see howler monkeys, toucans, and other wildlife. After the hike we will go directly to the playing fields, bring your cleats and playing stuff on to the bus. Every team will play four games through the day, with a buy after the second game. Use your buy to get lunch. Lunch will be available through the day at the small food stand at the playing fields. Last game will finish at 6 p.m.

Dinner at the hotel.

Party at local disco with beer included.

Third day. Sunday July 5th

Late morning breakfast followed by transfer to the playing fields. Games will begin at 10:30 in the morning. Every team will have the chance to play 3 games this day. Lunch will be available through the day at the small food stand at the playing fields.

Dinner at the hotel, followed by a visit to the volcano naturally heated thermal waters.

Last day. Monday July 6th

Early Morning breakfast followed by transfer from hotel to the San Jose International Airport.

Beer will be included on the party on July 4th. There will also be $1 beer for sale at the tournament bus. Ask our driver Ricardo if you want to buy a beer.
